Having the right mindset

Hello guys! Developing the right mindset is really crucial to succeed in anything so I thought I would talk a little about mindsets.

First of all:

What is a mindset?

Your mindset is the sum of your knowledge, including beliefs and thoughts about the world and yourself in it. It is your filter for information you get in and put out. So it determines how you receive and react information. You want to use your mindset to make a positive change. That’s why your beliefs don’t necessarily have to reflect your current reality. But of course the reality you believe in should be possible.

Why having the right mindset is truly important?

So, let’s say that you just started your carrier as an entrepreneur .If you believe “I am a successful entrepreneur”, you will act that way but on the other hand if you believe:”I am just a beginner and I am not really good at this” you will act this way. Because, most of the times, the way we see ourselves manages to change our reality in quite an important way and define us.

Once you acquired the right mindset you can achieve anything you desire as long as it is physically doable and with that being on the table you have to strive to achieve the best possible mindset.

Types of mindsets : fixed mindset vs growth mindset

There are different kinds of mindsets but most of them fall into one of the two categories: fixed mindset and growth mindset

“In a fixed mindset students believe their basic abilities, their intelligence, their talents, are just fixed traits. They have a certain amount and that’s that, and then their goal becomes to look smart all the time and never look dumb. In a growth mindset students understand that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching and persistence. They don’t necessarily think everyone’s the same or anyone can be Einstein, but they believe everyone can get smarter if they work at it.” says Carol Dweck , a researcher at Stanford University .

The benefits of a growth mindset might seem obvious, but most of us will keep a fixed mindset in a lot of situation because our brains are wired to pick the easier way. That can be dangerous because a fixed mindset can often prevent important skill development and growth, which could sabotage your health and happiness down the line.

For example, if you say, “I’m not a math person” then that belief acts as an easy excuse to avoid practicing math. The fixed mindset prevents you from failing in the short–run, but in the long–run it hinders your ability to learn, grow, and develop new skills.

Meanwhile, someone with a growth mindset would be willing to try math problems even if they failed at first. They see failure and setbacks as an indication that they should continue developing their skills rather than a signal that indicates, “This is something I’m not good at.”

As a result, people who have a growth mindset are more likely maximize their potential. They tend to learn from criticism rather than ignoring it, to overcome challenges rather than avoiding them, and to find inspiration in the success of others rather than feeling threatened.

The way we see ourselves changes who we are and our actions and reactions change the path our life takes.

With all that being said I hope that now you understand the importance of one’s mindset in achieving what he desires most and in developing oneself as a person so make sure to grow a successful mindset in order to become a successful person.
